This is a painted RECREATION of a beautiful photo I found on DA called Siren's Stare by SanguisGelidus and his sister PixieCold.
In both my Painting 1 and Painting 2 classes we had to work from photos. While I tried to recreate the picture I found as closely as I could, I realized a little too late that I had sketched the eye out a little too small so I had to improvise with the rest of the space. I tried to differ from the original by not using absolute blacks for the shadows and eyelashes even though it gives the eye a lot more mystery in the photo. And for some reason the only way I could recreate the shimmery quality of the skin was by adding metallic paints to the image which I am not sure translated well when I took the picture.
I try to give credit where credit is due, and the two wonderful artists who made the original image are masters of detail and I can only hope that I did their work any sort of Justice. Please go to SanguisGelidus and PixieCold's pages to view their wonder work.
